OPEX: November 2009 Options Expiration

Yet another nice options expiration this November with both my sold calls on Brookfield Properties corp and Las Vegas Sands expiring worthless.

So nothing fancy, just a quick and easy opex report this time with nothing getting called out.

I keep $242 in premiums and turn around on Monday and sell more options on BPO and LVS.

OPEX: October 2009 Option Expiration

So, here is it: October Options expiration!

All four of our sold calls are expiring worthless, I get to keep $209.91 in premiums

I will turn around on Monday and sell more covered calls!

OPEX: September 2009 Options Expiration

Yet another profitable options expiration.

There were times where I used to dread options expiration as I had absolutely no idea what it meant. Those were the times I was told, the market does crazy things during options expriation days which is the third friday of every month.

So stay away from the market and dont even open your portfolio on these days… HUH?

Now, the times have changed! Now, I love option expiration fridays as those are my paydays. I have become a net option seller and love to see my options expiring worthless so I can turn around and sell more for my next payday.

While I am still fine tuning this appraoch, as you can see from the last opex post for August Options Expiration I have been on a roll.

Lets get to the nitty gritty of this month’s opex numbers.

This month, I will be called out on three big positions. Alcoa, US Oil Fund and MEMC Electronics

OPEX: August 2009 Options expiration

I had a nice and healthy August options expiration with 6 positions being called out on.

Some of the positions I was not so happy on getting called out but at this point I really don’t care as I am more happy that my strategy seems to be working.

So, this is my first Options expiration update on the blog and I will create a new category for this.
I plan to do a full review of the portfolio at every opex and think in terms of how to effectively manage the positions for next opex.

So here are some profit numbers we have coming out of Aug 09 options expiration

As of Aug opex, I will get called out on 6 positions,

$C : Citigroup
We have 250 shares in the portfolio and will get called out on 200 of them as the covered call we sold for $4 strike is in the money and we will be left with 50 shares in the account. A few thoughts that come to my mind here are to buy 50 more and continue with selling covered calls. I looked at $C chart for some technical levels and I think its prudent to wait for a slight pullback to buy 50 more shares. I will post some tech analysis on C and will put this on my watch list for next week.
